Compassion and Empathy through Community Care

The desire to be understood is one of the most important psychological needs. To be known, seen, and heard is the building blocks to good connection, relationship, and a strong sense of belonging in a community.

In my learning environments, I strive to understand each of my students and their limitations. I work to reduce their barriers to learning through individualized educational and behavioral plans.

I also try to instill the same compassion, empathy, and curiosity about one another in each of my students. This is created through classroom group activities, outdoor learning, and interactions with animals.
